UX/UI Design
Responsive website
June - Aug 2022
The existing platform had navigation issues, unclear information architecture, and an outdated design.
The goal was to redesign the website to:
✅ Improve navigation and information structure
✅ Enhance usability through user research and testing
✅ Create a modern, minimal, and consistent design
To fully understand user needs, we performed:
Expert Review – Analyzed the site’s IA, navigation, and usability (based on Nielsen’s heuristics)
User Testing (4 participants) – Students performed key tasks like:
● Searching for a master's program
● Enrolling in a course
● Finding workshop information
● Requesting support
Based on the research, we restructured the site’s content with:
● Card Sorting – 10 participants grouped site topics logically
● Tree Testing – 10 participants validated the new structure
With a new IA in place, we designed a fully navigable prototype:
● Minimalist & clear design for better readability
● Consistent color palette aligned with Scuola IaD branding
● Optimized layouts for both desktop & mobile
To refine the prototype, we conducted 10 usability tests with students (ages 22-31).
Key improvements made after testing:
● Refined navigation for easier access to course materials
● Improved search functionality
● Clearer CTAs for registration and support
The redesign of the Scuola IaD website resulted in:
✅ A more intuitive and structured navigation experience
✅ Higher usability through validated IA & UX testing
✅ A modernized visual identity
Next steps include refining the private area and optimizing the onboarding process for new users.
