Hexabot Control - A lunar colony management app

Hexabot Control is a futuristic task-management app designed for lunar pioneers to effortlessly assign tasks, track progress, and receive real-time updates on their Hexabot robots. The app enhances usability in extreme space conditions by integrating hands-free controls, clear task visualization, and intuitive navigation.

Problem statement & Goals

Lunar settlers depend on Hexabots for survival, but existing interfaces are inefficient and difficult to use in space conditions.

Goals:
✅ Enable fast & intuitive task assignment for different user types
✅ Ensure clear tracking & real-time updates
✅ Design for hands-free interactions & extreme environments

Research & Discovery

I analyzed two primary user groups and their pain points to tailor the app’s functionality.

Explorers & Researchers need fast, efficient control for experiments

● Families require a simple, user-friendly interface for daily tasks

● 65% of task assignments are time-sensitive & need a rapid response

Ideation & UX Process

The wireflow was designed to streamline key actions in just 10 steps, ensuring a logical, frictionless experience.

UI Design & Prototype

The high-fidelity UI focuses on clarity, accessibility, and efficiency while maintaining a futuristic aesthetic.

● Dark mode interface – Reduces eye strain in dimly lit lunar habitats
● Voice-enabled actions – Allows for easy control while wearing a spacesuit
● 3D Task Visualization – Clear distinction between active Hexabots & assigned zones

Reflections & Next steps

This competition was an exciting opportunity to design for real-world usability in extreme conditions. If selected, I would love to refine the design by:
